6.3.2 Preventing water system pollution
In order to be a university with a green office, the university’s office wastewater management operations and wastewater quality must be within relevant legal standards. The guidelines are as follows: 1) Designate a person responsible for wastewater management and must have knowledge and understanding of care, 2) Wastewater treatment is appropriate and efficient, such as having a grate to catch food scraps, 3) There is a grease trap or wastewater treatment system appropriate to the composition of wastewater, complete wastewater treatment at every point where wastewater is released, 4) There are wastewater quality inspection results that are within the standard criteria as required by law. The Office of Academic Resources and Information Technology processes wastewater that comes from cleaning toilets and washing utensils. Therefore, grease traps are installed in areas where personnel eat to trap grease in wastewater treatment and publicize for personnel to empty food scraps before washing to reduce the number of washing times and use environmentally friendly products.
