SDG 1 No Poverty
1.3.3 Low-income student support
Phetchaburi Rajabhat University provides welfare services and support activities to improve the quality of life of students from low-income backgrounds. These initiatives focus on promoting access to affordable food, creating opportunities for students to earn income while studying, and developing vocational and entrepreneurial skills, as follows:
1. Food and income-generating support
The University provides a cafeteria and affordable food shops serving students, staff, and the general public, helping reduce students’ food-related expenses. In addition, the University has established “Ka Nod Market”, a simulated business market that operates every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. The market provides opportunities for students and staff to sell products, food, and beverages, promoting experiential learning while enabling students to earn income while studying.
In addition, the Faculty of Management Science implements initiatives to promote and develop practical business skills among students, such as the “Management Market” (Talad Nat Chatkan) located in front of the faculty. The market provides students with opportunities to gain hands-on experience in entrepreneurship, business management, marketing, and product sales, while also enabling them to earn additional income during their studies. These activities help enhance practical experience and develop essential skills for students’ future careers.
2. Affordable Housing and Safety Services
Phetchaburi Rajabhat University provides affordable student accommodation to help reduce students’ housing expenses and ensure access to quality and safe housing. The University operates four student dormitories, as well as accommodation facilities for staff and faculty members, with reasonable subsidized rates provided as part of the University’s welfare services.
To ensure the safety and well-being of residents, the University provides dormitory staff who are on duty 24 hours a day to monitor safety, provide assistance, and offer guidance and support to students living in the dormitories. The University also promotes the dormitories as supportive environments for learning, daily living, and student well-being, providing a welcoming, appropriate, and safe living environment
3. Public Transportation Services on Campus
Phetchaburi Rajabhat University provides free electric shuttle services within the campus for students, staff, and the general public. The service facilitates convenient transportation between different areas of the University, helps reduce students’ transportation expenses, and promotes the use of clean energy and environmentally friendly transportation. This initiative contributes to improving the quality of life of the University community and supporting the development of a sustainable campus.
4. Student welfare and health services
Phetchaburi Rajabhat University has established a Student Welfare Fund to provide financial assistance for medical expenses in cases of accidents or death.
